Biography
Wendi Campbell is the Executive Director at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region located in Kitchener, Ontario. One of Ontario’s largest food banks, The Food Bank of Waterloo Region distributes over 3 million pounds of food to emergency food programs within Waterloo Region and also assists with food collection and distribution throughout the province of Ontario. Wendi has been an Executive Member of the Ontario Association of Food Banks Board of Directors and also sat on the Board of the Canadian Association of Food Banks. Wendi assists community food programs enhance their service delivery and their capacity to ensure that the needs of the economically disadvantaged are being met. She plays an active role in educating communities about trends in the food industry and their affects on services provided by grassroots programs. An example of Wendi’s contribution to improving the emergency food system is demonstrated by the success of a provincial pilot project she coordinated in 2003 - which now distributes an additional 2.5 million pounds of emergency food throughout Southwestern Ontario.

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region is a proud partner of Waterloo Region Shares. Waterloo Region Shares is a collaborative initiative of the Food Assistance Network which includes over 50 agencies and 100 programs from Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich. Our goal is to improve the coordination, efficiency and effectiveness of the food assistance system so that we can best meet the needs of our 25,000 neighbours who rely on our services.
