1. Roundtable presents position on newest draft of Regional Official Plan
(ROP)
Roundtable member Gerald Kara presented comments on behalf of the Waterloo
Region Food System Roundtable on the second draft Regional Official Plan
(ROP) at a meeting of Regional Council on May 12th. For details, including

2. 2009 Buy Local! Buy Fresh! Map released, new Foodlink website launched
The 2009 Buy Local! Buy Fresh! map is now available at public libraries and
many other locations around Waterloo Region - just in time for asparagus
season! Launching this year alongside the Map is a wholly redesigned
website answering everything you ever wanted to know about local food -
where to find it, how to preserve it, and more. See www.foodlink.ca for
details.
3. Upcoming Food Events
Full details on upcoming food-related events in Waterloo Region can be
viewed under "Upcoming Events" on the Roundtable's website (

website. Some upcoming highlights include:
Plant and Seedling Sales - two separate ones on Saturday, May 23, 9am-noon,
